Minted

Mint is probably one of my all-time favorite colors.  I love all of the blues and greens!  I found this adorable, and yet so comfortable, dress from TJ Maxx awhile ago, and have loved how versatile it is.  For spring, I paired it with wedge sandals or nude pumps, and for fall, it's riding boots all the way.  I also love how the necklace ties in the brown with the mint.

Preppy

I got this anchor skirt from Tommy Hilfiger over the summer, and boy do I just love it!  It's just too cute and there are seriously so many ways to style it!  I've worn it with sandals, boots, flats.  With white flowy tops or with a sweater.  It's extremely versatile and just too cute!

Red Denim

Oh goodness... I do love red, white, and blue together.  But I have to say, when I tried on these Banana Republic red denim skinnies, I was pretty reluctant.  The conversation going on in my brain in the dressing room went something like this...
"red denim, really?  no way.  not me.  so incredibly bright for denim.  oh heavens, i barely even own anything red let alone pants.  but they do look good.  and think of all the things i could pair them with.  are these really that crazy?  wait... they're $15?  oh snap, i'm buying them."

So of course, I bought them.  And now I'm so glad I did!  They go so well with the myriad of navy and white tops in my wardrobe.  And they really are the perfect thing to wear in fall and winter!  I just pair it with a navy blazer or cardigan, and I'm good to go!

Navy and Mustard Yellow

These transition months between summer and autumn can be tricky.  However, this navy pineapple shirt seems to be serving me well in making that transition.  It's a super light material and looks great with the sleeves rolled up or downm and when paired with a mustard cardigan, gives the outfit more of an autumn edge.  I plan to wear it with longer khaki pants or skinnies during the upcoming months.

I have always loved navy and pink together, but I have to say, I'm really loving navy and yellow together now as well!

Nautical Style

I love the water.  I'm a SCUBA diver, love kayaking, and can't get enough of the ocean.  So that carries over into my love of nautical clothing styles (and yes, I liked it long before it became so popular).  When I found this top on a super sale at J. Crew this summer, I swooned.  It's super comfy and casual, but sooooo adorable.  I paired it with my favorite pair of denim capris, a pair of boat shoes, and my hand-made tassel bracelets (made in the colors of the ocean).

I'm soooo sad to see an end to summer because that means that this outfit won't be worn so much.  However, it's been a "go-to" outfit for the last several months!

Floppy Hats and Chambray Tops

I adore hats.  I really wish I was Princess Catherine and could wear all of the adorable hats and fascinators that seem perfectly acceptable to wear on a daily basis.  However, I am not, so I must make do with what I have and when it seems appropriate to wear them in MY life. ;)

I found this perfect "Scarlet O'Hara" at the LOFT outlet while visiting family in South Carolina, and just could not pass it up.  It makes the perfect beach hat, and I also love it paired with this Chambray print top and white skinny capris.

I like that this outfit can transition from summer to beginning fall (I know, I know... no white after Labor Day, blah, blah).  However, the chambray top and hues of the gems in the bracelet have me thinking a "teensy bit" about fall.  And for this summer girl, that's a big step! :)

Are you a hat person?  And what do you think about white after Labor Day?
